Khan’s yurt as the center of epic space in the texts of Khakas heroic tales: öрге

Abstract

The article offers the results of a linguistic analysis of the semantic-cognitive structure of the ethnoepic constant öрге “palace, castle, khan’s yurt, khan’s headquarters”. The purpose of the article is to describe and identify the functional-semantic, etymological and linguocultural features of clichéd expressions with this component. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that individual fragments of the folklore picture of the world are an invaluable storehouse of traditional knowledge and values of our ancestors. Although the traditional yurt, as an object of material national culture, constantly attracts the attention of researchers in the humanities, the linguistic representation of this conceptual sphere, not only in Khakas, but also in other Turkic languages, has not been studied enough. The novelty of the study is that for the first time cliched expressions with the öрге component are described: ах öрге иб “the majestic Khan’s yurt; lit. white palace-yurt” and ах öрге “lit. white yurt” in the texts of heroic legends. For analysis, clichéd expressions with this component, collected from the texts of the heroic tales of Albynchy and Ai Michikneng Kyn Michik, named after the main heroes – warriors, were selected. In the course of the study, a comparative lexical and semantic analysis of the use of the lexeme öрге by different storytellers is carried out. In this example, we once again confirm the uniqueness and individuality of the language and style of performance of heroic tales, characteristic of each master storyteller. The use of cliched expressions by well-known haiji- singer ах öрге иб “majestic khan’s yurt’; lit. ‘white palace-yurt’ (Kadyshev) and ах öрге “white yurt” (Borgoyakov) are marked with the corresponding lexical-semantic and grammatical features. Also, using linguistic material, we showed that the conceptual field of the khan’s dwelling includes lexical-semantic and grammatical categories that materialize the concepts of location, entry/exit, departure/return of the hero after heroic deeds. Thus, in the concept of the khan’s dwelling, a combination of the concepts of the center of the epic space and the symbol of the hero’s native land is found.
