This article deals with the question of culture-specific vocabulary in olonkho Nurgun Bootur the Swift. The term “culture-specific vocabulary” is considered to be the vocabulary of a language that characterizes the identity and originality of the culture and traditions of the people. The relevance of the work is that the study of lexicology issues, such as culture-specific vocabulary, through the rich olonkho language gives us the basis for studying the uniqueness of the Sakha people, their culture, ethnicity and language. The aim of our work was the identification and analysis of groups of culture-specific vocabulary in the Yakut heroic epic olonkho Nurgun Bootur the Swift by P. A. Oiynsky. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were set: a study and analysis of theoretical literature; collection of factual material by continuous sampling; classification of extracted material into groups; analysis of groups of culture-specific vocabulary; generalization of the results obtained. Thus, the paper analyzed 825 examples of culture-specific vocabulary from olonkho Nurgun Bootur the Swift. This factual material was collected based on the classification of S. I. Vlakhov and S. P. Florin, which included the following groups: realities, phraseology, proper names, addresses, interjections, onomatopoeia. The largest number of examples was found in the group of interjections – 206, and proper names – 191. In other groups, the number of examples of culture-specific vocabulary was as follows: onomatopoeia – 121, addresses – 120, realities – 99, phraseological units – 88. Also, each group of culture-specific vocabulary has its own classification, which includes separate groups, according to the subject, type, and other distinctive features. The basis of classification of each group was the work of different theorists: proper names – L. A. Vvedenskaya, N. P. Kolesnikova; realities – S. I. Vlakhov, S. P. Florin; phraseological units – P. S. Afanasiev; vocarives – V. K. Kharchenko; interjections – N. K. Antonov, onomatopoeia – Z. K. Derbisheva. It is worth noting that in each group, the data of the classification of researchers do not exactly correspond to subgroups, so in some groups of culture-specific vocabulary, other subgroups were identified.
